From "Do It Yourself" to Center Stage: The D.O.A. Drag Sleds Story
Every great racing team has an "origin story," and ours didn't start in a boardroom—it started with a problem that needed solving.
At D.O.A. Drag Sleds, we didn’t set out to become a national name in asphalt racing. We just wanted a high-quality hood. But as any racer knows, when you can’t find the quality you need on the market, you have two choices: settle for second best or build it yourself.
We chose to build.
Born Out of Necessity
The spark that started D.O.A. was simple. We were searching for a builder with high-quality molds to provide hoods for our own racing projects. We found the right person, but there was a catch—he had lost interest in the snowmobile world and stopped production.
Rather than giving up, we took matters into our own hands. We started crafting our own hoods to meet our personal standards. It wasn’t long before other racers noticed the fit, the finish, and the performance. What started as a DIY project for our own sleds quickly evolved into building seats, components, and eventually, full-custom asphalt drag sleds for customers across the United States.
Today, that journey has taken us from a local shop in Foley, Minnesota, to being featured on the national stage with Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.
A Commitment to Craftsmanship
We haven't forgotten our roots. The reason we started building—a refusal to accept "low-quality"—is still the heartbeat of our shop.
In an era of mass-produced parts and "good enough" manufacturing, D.O.A. stands apart. Every single part that leaves our shop is:
- Hand-made by expert mechanics who understand the violence and precision of a drag strip.
- Inspected for perfection, ensuring a level of craftsmanship that our contemporaries simply can't match.
- Built to perform, because we don't just sell these parts—we race them.
One-of-a-Kind Performance
When you buy from D.O.A., you are getting something truly unique. Our hoods, seats, and custom components are designed from our own proprietary molds and blueprints.
While others might try to replicate the "look" of a D.O.A. component, they can't replicate the soul. You can’t copy the structural integrity, the lightweight precision, or the years of trial and error that go into every carbon fiber lay-up. Our parts are one-of-a-kind because our standards are one-of-a-kind.
Join the D.O.A. Family
We started this journey because we wanted a better hood. Now, we’re helping racers across the country build better, faster, and more reliable machines. Whether you're a weekend warrior or chasing a championship, we’re here to give you the edge that only hand-crafted quality can provide.
